GLOSS

GLOSS

The End Project Space. November 8th — December 14th, 2024.

GLOSS is a series of paintings built on a fascination with the hyperbole and absurdity of mass media, influenced by Baroque art’s drama and social media’s carefully filtered aesthetics. In this series, Holtzclaw inserts herself into a fictional archive of pop culture. Her work lives in the space where hyper-realism meets pulp, with a vaguely sinister feminist twist. GLOSS is a view into a world of enticements and provocations beneath the glossy surface—a surreal oeuvre of reflections on a culture obsessed with reflections.
